The reviews worried me a bit but I really wanted a new pair of nice brown boots that I could wear comfortably throughout the day because I am in college and do a considerable amount of walking. The heel height is perfect for me and the shoe is not too tight or too loose. Usually I am somewhere between a 9 1/2 and a 10 so I chose to do a 10 and I am glad I did. Another good point is it has a soft insole that cushions your foot inside of the boot, adding to the comfort! The only problem I would say I have is that it is a bit tight around my ankle. When i go to bend down to get something it pinches my ankles and I cannot stay like that for long before having to change my position. I am hoping it is only like this because they are still new because I really love them otherwise! The rest of the calf fits snuggly which I prefer(I have an average sized calf I believe). Feel free to check out the photo I provided! I am wearing leggings and not jeans so I do not know how tight it will be with jeans but with the photo you can see how it gets tighter around the ankle and the top of the boot still has a bit of a gap but not a noticeable one when walking! I ordered the wide calf boots based upon the other reviews. have never ordered wide calf before but after reading the other reviews I was concerned about tucking my pants into these boots. I feel like the regular may have been ok, but without having them available to try on, I am not sure. The wide are ok, but you can certainly tell they are wide, they look a little pirate like. The foot part of the shoe fits perfectly and they look very nice. I like the heel and the buckle details. they are comfortable all day but by the end of the day they do pinch a bit in the toe area. I am hoping with more wear that will stretch out.

I tried this shoe in a 6.5W with a wide shaft. Shoe part was good but I had about 2 inches left around my calf. Tried a 7W with a regular shaft but the shoe part was too tight. Ordered a size up 7.5 W regular shaft and it is snug at the top, but the fit is comfortable and I will be keeping these. I recommend an entire size up from what you normally buy. Very nice boots although my last pair had been tried on and didn't come in an orginal shoe box. Not sure I like that part. I am definitely returning my other two tries the way that I received them.

I purchased these boots in 8.5W with Wide Shaft. My normal shoe size is 8-8.5, sometimes wide, sometimes not. I also own some regular shaft boots, and some wide. My feet and legs are just very "in the middle". So I ordered Wide Shaft to be on the safe side. I got my 8.5W's and I couldn't even get my foot inside the shoe. Sent them back and upped it to a 9.5W with Wide Shaft. I can almost comfortably get my foot inside the shoe but it took all of my strength to get the zipper up around my jeans. Once it was up the shoes were mostly comfortable, except for the bend in the fabric around my ankle when I sit down. I hope that kink works itself out with some wear. I'm keeping the boots because they're cute, they do fit, and they're at least comfortable while standing/walking. But as a warning, they are NOT wide by any stretch of the means. In foot, or calf.

I love these boots! I purchased a regular calf and width (BM) pair in dark brown for an upcoming October trip to Italy. I was looking for a stylish and comfortable pair of boots that would traverse cobblestone roads easily while still looking smart with a skirt or dress. I have somewhat large calves (about 15" in diameter) and most of my other boots have a 15.5" or 16" diameter opening, so I originally purchased these in the wide calf version. However, I found the gap very unattractive and uncomfortable, so I returned them for the regular width. I a thrilled with the fit and comfort! I've worn them with a wrap dress and over skinny jeans on several occasions, and they look and feel great! The elastic back panel keeps things snug while still allowing you to move. I can't wait for my trip!

These boots look cute out of the box. However, when I tried them on, they were very uncomfortable. I am 4 foot 11 and wear a size 5. The shaft was fine; it fit my short legs very well, not up at the knee like some boots. However, the foot was small and stiff. My foot fit but felt tight and there was zero bend to the shoe. I felt like they were encased in cement. I realize that with some shoes you have to break them in; however, I could tell these would never be comfortable. Unfortunately, I will be returning them.
